Standard of Living
Well this email from our group leader certainly freaked me out a bit. This is the Human Development Index that looks at income, education, housing, gender, equality, population and a few other things that I've probably missed. It ranks Ethiopia as 171 of 182 contries. What stands out the most to me is where the caribbean countries are on the list compared to Ethiopia. I may be in for a shock at how little these people have and I'm not expecting them to have anything.
Other things that really stood out in the fact sheet were a life expectancy of 54.7 years, adult literacy rate of 35.9% and the percentage of the population living on less than $2 US a day is 77.5%
